Scavenger Egg Hunt

Scavenger Egg Hunt

Our unique egg hunt combines a scavenger hunt with a traditional Easter egg hunt — fun for the whole family, and it’s included with Farm Admission.

Dotty does a clue sheet for you to find the dotted eggs around the farm. Follow her speckled clues while enjoying 40+ farm activities. Got the six dotted eggs in your basket? Next …

Head to the Meadow to hunt for the remaining six (solid colored) eggs. When your basket is full (or at quota), exchange the eggs for a prize bag and take pictures with Dotty’s pal, the Country Bunny.

Bring your own Easter basket or use some of the egg cartons we have available.
For visitors under age 2 (who pay no Farm Admission), may pay a $5.00 fee to join in the egg hunt.

A Time for Giving

Christmas: A Time for Giving

This year, we have a special Christmas mission at Devine Acres Farm — one that will benefit the A-T Children’s Project. Our granddaughter, Audrey Jane, is fighting a very rare disease, and we hope to raise money to help find a cure!  For every tree that you purchase, we will donate $10 to the project’s privately funded research for a  Ataxia-Telangiectasia cure.

From our son and his wife:  Josh & Brittany Capps …

In July of 2021 our Audrey Jane was diagnosed with Ataxia -Telangiectasia (A-T). A-T is a neurodegenerative genetic disorder that typically impairs movement and coordination, weakens the immune system, and causes an increased risk for cancer. A-T is rare (approx 500 known cases in the U.S.) and often comes with many other physical and medical challenges. We have been told that kids with A-T typically need a wheelchair by the age of ten and that life expectancy is limited by the disorder due to the impaired immune system and risk for cancer. There is currently no cure for A-T.

We have been to the Johns Hopkins A-T Clinic in Baltimore and we have a good team of doctors on our side locally as well.  We have been connected with the AT Children’s Project, a nonprofit formed/supported by families affected by A-T. They are doing everything they can to fund research and trials and find a cure.

We have learned that every child with A-T is so different in their individual symptoms and know of some who have lived into their 30s and even early 40s. Intellect is typically not affected which is a blessing. Only time will tell how this disorder will affect our baby girl.

Right now she is 3, a bit wobbly and off balance (she has been since she started walking at 15 months), but she is happy and smart and has a zeal for life like no other!

We have also been told that kids with A-T typically start losing physical abilities step by step between ages (4-8). We are in a race against time to find a cure for our Audrey Jane.

God has been with us every step of our journey so far, putting so many good people and resources in our path. God has also blessed us with the best family, friends, and community support we could ever ask for. We will not let A-T defeat us, we will not let it suck the joy from our lives, and we will not give up hope! God’s light shines brightly through our Audrey Jane and we have faith that he will lead us to a cure! That being said … we will be hosting a big fundraiser on May 14, 2022 to help raise funds for the research that is actively being done to find a cure. Date and info to come.

In the meantime, we appreciate any prayers you can spare for our Audrey Jane and all the families affected by this terrible disorder. Please spread the word to anyone looking to support a good cause or anyone you know in the medical community. You never know what may spark the cure.

Thank you to everyone who has already reached out us and that have been praying for us. We are eternally grateful for your love and support!

Audrey Jane says “we got this!”

Cutting Your Tree

Here’s how it works …

First, parking is always free for our visitors at Devine Acres Farm!

Come though the main farm entry, pay a gate fee of $10 per person. It has become necessary to implement a gate fee to discourage those who are not coming for a tree due to limited parking. But don’t you worry, the gate fee, or a portion of it, can be applied towards the purchase of your tree. Each household will receive a credit voucher (up to $50) to apply towards the purchase of a tree. Examples:  2 gate fees = $20 credit towards tree, 5 gate fees = 50 credit towards tree, 7 gate fees = $50 credit towards tree. This fee is non-refundable should you decide not to purchase a tree.

It’s a short walk out to the Christmas Tree Forest! Look for pre-tagged trees, as they are the only ones available for cutting this season! Note: There’s no secret system to the tag colors; they are just for the Elves.

Saws are provided in the fields. Staff members will be available in the fields to direct folks to available trees, answer questions and more!

When you’ve cut your tree, we’ll transport it by wagons to the processing area at the entry to the farm. Your tree will be shaken and baled, ready for you to load it up and give it a home! Trees are paid for near The Homestead. This is where you will be able to apply your credit voucher towards the purchase of your tree!

We have twine available for you to secure trees to your vehicles. Note that employees will not be able to help with that.
